Mr. Howard Bleed of Shorewood Park on East Rush Lake; passed away Tuesday (1/12/16) at United Hospital in St. Paul at the age of 81.
Howard was born April 10, 1934 to Axel and Hulda (Nelson) Bleed in a community called Estes Brook in Benton County, Minnesota on the home farm. Howard attended Milaca High School and graduated in 1952. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. The majority of his work life, 30 years, was spent in the parts department working for International Harvester.
In later years, Howard enjoyed fishing on Rush Lake and watching the deer in his backyard. He was known as a decent man who loved a good joke and a good laugh. Howard will be missed by all who knew him.
Howard Bleed is survived by Mary Rahman; sons Brian Bleed of Chippewa Falls, WI, Daniel Rahman and wife Sarah of Sioux Falls, SD, granddaughter Kelsea Gusk of Boston, his sister Grace Mewes and husband Ruben of WI, sisters-in-law Susan Bleed of Fargo, Darlene Bleed of Blaine and many nieces and nephews.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents Axel and Hulda Bleed, son Timothy Gusk, twin brother Herbert Bleed, siblings Don, Wes, Charles, Jim (Daisy) Bleed and Betty (Doug) Thompson.
Rev. Dr. Angus McDonald will officiate at Howie’s funeral; 11AM Saturday (1/23/16) at the Estes Brook Evangelical Free Church in Oak Park with a time of visitation one hour prior at the church and also Friday evening (1/22/16) from 5-7 PM at the Olson Chapel in Rush City.
