James A. Young, a resident of Pine Haven-Community Living Options (CLO); east of Pine City, passed away very unexpectedly, Tuesday (3/1/2016) at Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center in Wyoming, Minnesota at the age of 51 years.
James was born September 24, 1964 in St. Paul, Minnesota and has lived in the Pine City area since 1995. He was actively involved in PHASE in Pine City.
James lived a full and active life thanks to his many friends at CLO. He enjoyed relaxing while at home, spending quality time with his housemates and CLO staff, watching Disney movies and game channels, such as “Family Feud” and “Wheel of Fortune”. James enjoyed working on puzzles and other various table activities. James also enjoyed going to the movies, shopping, having picnics and out to eat, and visiting animals at the zoo.
A highlight of his life was an airplane trip to Orlando, Florida. While there, James visited Disney World, Epcot Center, the ocean and many other fun activities with staff.
James was a wonderful man, who could light up an entire room. He had an infectious laugh and an amazing smile. Those who had the privilege to know and serve James really enjoyed their time with him. His high energy and wonderful characteristics will be deeply missed by his housemates, staff and friends.
James Young is survived by his housemates: Fred, Donald, Scott and the rest of his Pine Haven Family.
A celebration of James’s life is planned for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (3/9/2016) at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City with a time of visitation and reviewal one hour prior to the service. Music will include some of his favorite songs. Burial will take place at the Milburn Cemetery east of Pine City.
