Elsie Telstad of Stanchfield died Friday at the Cerenity Care Center in South St. Paul at the age of 88.
Elsie was born in Braham, Mn. on August 7, 1920. She was the youngest and last survivor of 15 children born to Gust and Minnie Grell. She attended the Braham School.
Elsie loved her life on Rush Lake with family and friends. She very much enjoyed her visits to Riley’s Resort and Flickabirds located on Rush Lake. Elsie especially loved to dance with anyone who could keep up with her! She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and looked forward to having coffee with her special niece and neighbor, Jan Zeismer.
Elsie had many friends but her “Bestest Friend” as they called each other, was Louella Peterson. Elsie also had a special bond with good friend Richie Ronning.
Elsie is survived by her children James Telstad and partner Phyllis of Roseville, Bob Telstad and wife Winkie of Nashwauk, Pam Anderson and husband Dennis of Scandia, Susan Telstad of South St. Paul, 6 grand children and 8 great grandchildren.
Also surviving Elsie are her sisters-in-law Bernice Stromberg of Mora, Myrtle Telstad of Braham and her brother-in-law Orville Telstad of Cambridge.
Elsie Telstad is preceded in death by her parents Gust and Minnie Grell, her husband of 59 years Ole Telstad and her daughter-in-law Janice Telstad.
Rev. John Beck officiated at funeral services Monday 12 Noon @ the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rush City with a time of visitation and reviewel one hour prior to the service at church.
Music was provided by organist Dianne Kirchberg and soloists Tim Ronning and Rich Ronning. Casket Bearers were Sean Anderson, Chris Anderson, Jeff Telstad, Ryan Phelps, Martin Strecker and Roland Anderson with the interment in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery on Rush Lake.
