Jason Schwarz of Wasilla, Alaska, formerly of Pine City, passed away at his residence on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the age of 44.
Jason was born on Easter Sunday, April 2, 1972 to John Schwarz and Patricia Boda.
Jas grew up in Pine City and attended Pine City High School. He was a member of the Ironworkers, which he dearly loved and worked in that capacity for many years throughout the country.
He had a great love for the outdoors which brought him to Summit County Colorado and then he found his true home in Alaska. He worked on the North Slope, Valdez and Wasilla.
Jason was an excellent skier, rock climber and chef. He enjoyed many activities including skydiving, fishing with his son on Ann Lake, white water rafting, salmon fishing, feeding the hummingbirds, deer and elk hunting, simply watching the moose and eagles in his Alaskan backyard, and many other fun and exciting activities.
Jason truly enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He was also a very kind & generous man. He would do anything for anyone at any time without being asked. His heart knew no limits.
Jason is survived by his parents John Schwarz of Fridley and Patricia Boda of Murfreesboro TN, sister Leea Ashfeld of South Bend IN, son Damon Schwarz of Pine City, nephew Jaxson and niece Josie both of South Bend IN, grandmother Marcella Blaine, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Noral and Tranquil Schwarz, Tom Boda and his aunt Sharon Hemmeke.
Jason’s life will be celebrated with a gathering of friends and family 1:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City.
