Jeanne Renee Houdek

Jeanne Renee Houdek passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Pine City on May 11, 2016 at the age of 53. She battled cancer for 4½ years and fought courageously to the end. Jeanne was born to James and Hattie (Olander) Rislund on December 27, 1962 in Minneapolis. Jeanne grew up in Minnetonka. She married Edward Lee Houdek in the spring of 1983. In 1996, they moved to Pine City, Jeanne’s most favorite place in the world. Jeanne loved the outdoors. Her hobbies and passions were gardening, feeding and watching the birds, taking care of her dogs and spending time with her family. She worked at the Pine City branch of U.S. Bank for seven years, where she made many close friends. During her lifetime, Jeanne was one of the most loving, caring and thoughtful people to grace this world. She loved spending quiet days by the lake with her sweetheart Ed, and playing with her beloved dog Willow. She will be deeply missed by all and will remain in our hearts forever. Jeanne is survived by her husband Edward Houdek, her two children Jaime Kordonowy of Carver and Jeff (Caroline) Houdek of Eden Prairie, grandchildren; Anna, Lydia, John and Ben, and her father James Rislund, siblings; Mike (Paulette) Rislund, Miles Rislund, Cindy Lu (Kenley) Merrill, Sherri Rislund, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and her companion and beloved dog Willow. She is preceded in death by her mother Hattie Rislund.
