Clark Herman Kick of Pine City passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at his home at the age of 88.
Clark was born on May 5, 1928 to George and Theresa (Engler) Kick in Pine City. He graduated from Pine City High School and attended Dunwoody College.
In 1951, he married Patricia Peterson and they made their home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Church was always important to Clark; he served many years on the Grace Lutheran Church Council. Clark served in the United States Army from 1955-1957. He was employed for 30+ years with the United States Postal Service.
Clark always enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a conservation club member and an adult 4-H leader. He loved bowling, playing cards and always brought the cribbage board out at family gatherings. He volunteered with special needs children, taking the children bowling when he lived in Brooklyn Park.
In 1993, Clark married Anda Shatava. They moved back home to Pine City. Clark and Anda enjoyed dancing especially when Lyndon Peterson performed.
He loved his family and couldn’t wait until they visited. Clark will be dearly missed by his loving wife Anda and his extended family and friends.
Clark is survived by his wife Anda Kick of Pine City, sons Douglas (Kathy) Kick of Shakopee and Jeffrey (Laurie) Kick of Georgetown, Texas, daughter Tracey Kick of Minneapolis, 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and step-daughter Sarma (Phillip) Burnau of Lino Lakes, many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Theresa Kick, wife Patricia Kick, brothers Carl, Waldo, Glen, Robert, William and Harold, an infant brother, sisters Florence, Margaret and Caroline, and step-son Mark Shatava.
Reverend Frederick Hanson will officiate memorial services for Clark: 10:30 AM Friday, May 20, 2016 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City. A gathering of family and friends is planned for Thursday evening 6-8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service all at the church. Military honors will be provided by Heath-Perkins American Legion Post #51, Novak-Milliren VFW Post #4258 and the Minnesota National Guard. Interment will take place at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal, Minnesota.
