Agnes Thompson of Cambridge passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Cambridge Medical Center at the age of 95.
Agnes (Willert) Thompson was born on December 24, 1920 to Carl and Emma (Johnson) Willert in Leland Iowa.
She married Martin Thompson on October 1, 1941 and to this union, five children were born. Agnes was baptized on December 4, 1947 in Frost, Minnesota. She worked at Plastech in Rush City and at Donovan’s in Arden Hills. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Harris, WELCA, Sewing Club and the Grothe-Jacobson VFW Auxiliary in Rush City.
Agnes is survived by her daughter-in-law Sue Thompson of Chaska, children Richard (Deb) Thompson of Rush City, Judy (Gary) Grell of Cambridge, Phil (Cindy) Thompson of Rush City, Lyle Thompson of North Branch, 12 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, sisters Irene Peterson of Forest City, Iowa and Emma Knapper of Lake Mills, Iowa, brother-in-law Charles Lemme of Amery, Wisconsin.
She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Emma Willert, husband Martin Thompson, son Donald Thompson, 10 siblings, in-laws and step-granddaughter Julia (Vant) Valley.
Reverend Caroline Harthun-Woolridge will officiate at funeral services for Agnes: 11 AM Saturday, June 11, 2016 at First Lutheran Church of Harris with music provided by Craig and Lois Dahl. A gathering of family and friends is planned from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the church. The interment will take place at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Harris.
