Dorothy Anderson of Rush City, passed away Saturday (5/21/16) at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina at the age of 87.
She was born September 16, 1928 in St. Paul, MN to August and Dorothy (Whitson) Hoffmann.
Raised and graduating from high school in St. Paul, Dorothy worked in Washington D.C. for several years at the Pentagon. Upon her return to Minnesota, Dorothy married Bernard Anderson of Pine City and they eventually moved to Rush City where she worked at Plastech Research for 17 years. Dorothy loved to travel, which included trips to Great Britain, Wales, France and to an area along the border of Germany and France where her family originated.
Dorothy is survived by her children Barbara (John) Benjaminson of Finlayson, Lynne Howarth of CA, Susan (Roger) Lindman, David (Shelly ) Anderson all of Rush City, Gerald Anderson of AR, Jacquelyn Anderson of Grantsburg; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister Jackie McEiver of St. Paul.
She is preceded in death by her parents August and Dorothy Hoffman, husband Bernard Anderson, son Glen Howarth, brother Robert Hoffmann and sisters Lois Grupp and Elaine Huddalla.
Father Shane Wasinger will celebrate Mass for Dorothy; 10:30 AM Friday (5/27/16) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rush City with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service and Thursday evening from 5-7 PM at the Olson Chapel of Rush City. The interment will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Rush City.
