Maydean Johnson, age 83 of Pine City, formerly of Rush City, passed away Saturday, June 13th at the Burnett Medical Center in Grantsburg.
Maydean Lucille Johnson was born on July 24th, 1925 in Pine City, MN to Otto and Mathilda (Simek) Schwarz. She attended school in Pine City. On September 25th, 1965, Maydean was united in marriage to Harley Johnson. They made their home in Rush City for most of the lives, except for being in Port Charlotte, Florida from 1983 – 1997 where Maydean was working as a cosmetologist. Then in 1997, Harley and Maydean moved back to Rush City, and she continued to work as a cosmetologist.. Maydean was also very active with the local VFW Auxiliary and also the American Legion Auxiliary.
Maydean is survived by her loving husband Harley; sons: Frank “Bunny” (Linda) Lind, and Bradley (Kathy) Lind both of Rush City; 7 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren; sister Carol Dahlman of Forest Lake; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Maydean is preceded in death by her parents, sister Elleanor Thorstenson, and a grandson.
Memorial services were celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18th at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rush City with Reverend Laurie O’Shea officiating. Visitation was from 5 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. A private family inurnment took place in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
