Helen Marie Arhip

Helen Arhip of Shorewood on Rush Lake passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Ecumen of North Branch at the age of 86. Helen Marie (Josefik) Arhip was born June 20, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Anna (Rehak) Josefik. She married Steve Arhip in 1950 and had three children. In addition to raising her family Helen worked at Viking Drill and Tool for 27 years. The couple moved to their home in Shorewood Park on Rush Lake in 1989 where they both enjoyed fishing and gardening. Helen enjoyed an active social life and cultivated many meaningful relationships throughout the years in Rush City. She especially enjoyed spending time with the ladies of the Red Hat Society. Helen loved to laugh and could always be counted on to entertain any audience with her storytelling zeal. Helen was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed. Helen is survived by her children Mary Ann Zilla of Inver Grove Heights, Linda Arhip of Cottage Grove, Steve Arhip and Rhonda McNeill of Blaine; grandchildren Carin (Jon) Stevens of Rock Creek, Angel (Doug) Stiles of Ham Lake, Tearinie Arhip of Lino Lakes, Steffen (Vicki) Hagle of Wyoming, Heath Arhip of Blaine, and Michael Zilla of South St. Paul; great grandchildren Tate and Lane Hagle, Madeline and Mason LaMere, Jack Stiles and Kason Arnold. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Anna Josefik Sr., husband Steve Arhip and her brother Joseph Josefik Jr. Father Chuck Brambilla will officiate at funeral services for Helen; 2 PM Saturday, August 13, 2016 with a time of visitation and reviewal one hour prior to the service at the Olson Chapel in Rush City. The interment will take place at a later date at the Union Cemetery in St. Paul.
