Harold Olson died unexpectedly June 29, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Rush City at the age of 78. Harold William Olson, the son of William “Bill” and Jennie (Dahlstrom) Olson, was born at Rock Creek, Minnesota on August 3, 1930. He died June 29, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Rush City, Minnesota at the age of 78 years. Harold spent most of his life in the Rock Creek area. He attended schools in Rock Creek and Pine City and was also a member of the Pine City National Guard. He began his work career driving truck to the east coast and later Harold drove locally for McDonald Distributing in Rush City. At one time he was employed at Armour & Company in South St. Paul and in February of 1967 he began working at the Land O’Lakes plant in Rush City. He retired from Land O’ Lakes in November of 1992. Over the years Harold and his wife, Sharon, and their little dog, Pooky, traveled to many threshing shows where they bought and sold items. Harold enjoyed talking with people at these events and made many friends throughout the years. His likeable personality endeared him to people and he never knew a stranger, everyone was his friend. He enjoyed talking about old tools, tractors, and farm implements. Harold could often be found at the local coffee shops, partaking of food and in conversation with his friends and neighbors. He enjoyed driving his old Ford trucks around town. One of his hobbies was farming and raising various kinds of animals, especially horses. He had many fond memories of driving horses and farming with his dad and brothers. Harold was a good husband, father, grandpa, brother, friend, and neighbor, and will be greatly missed by all. Harold is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Leota Pulliam and son Jerry Olson both of Oregon, 5 grandchildren, Step-daughter Pam Wallin of Hinckley, sister LaDez Pangerl of Rock Creek, brothers Dale Olson and wife Gladys of Cambridge, Chuck Olson of Rush City, Ron Olson and wife Jan of Livingston, Texas, Cliff Olson and Ruth Merriman of Rock Creek and many nieces and nephews. Rev. Ed Sorenberger will officiate at funeral services Thursday 7 p.m. @ the Olson Chapel of Rush City with a time of visitation thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Olson Chapel prior to the funeral. The interment will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery at Rock Creek.
