Ardis Arlene Skogman the daughter of Lawrence and Emma (Nornberg) Johnson was born in Rock Creek Minnesota on June 13, 1938. Ardis was the second oldest of five children; sister, Carol and brothers, Loren, Harvey & Darryl. Ardis grew up on the family farm in Rush City and helped out with the daily chores until she graduated high school and moved to Minneapolis where she met Audie Skogman; her future husband. On August 22, 1959, Ardis and Audie were married.
She was the mother of two sons; Alan, born in May of 1961 and Gary, born in May of 1963. In 1962, Ardis and Audie built a house in New Hope, MN where Ardis would spend the next 54 years. She raised her family and was married to Audie until his passing on June 9th 2013. Ardis was fortunate enough to be a "stay at home" mother raising her sons until she felt they were old enough to get themselves up and off to school; around the ages of 10 and 12 years old. She spent the next 27 years working outside the home at various jobs and finished up her work career with the City of New Hope in clerical & bookkeeping.
Ardis had several passions that she enjoyed with Audie throughout the years. Snowmobiling and traveling in their camper visiting 49 of the 50 states of the United States were the two biggest pleasures they enjoyed in life together. Downhill skiing with her family was another pleasure Ardis enjoyed; but her greatest love and passion were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ardis spent many years spending time with them; leaving a wonderful, everlasting impression and legacy.
A warm, kind, caring and thoughtful person, Ardis had a special gift to touch and brighten the lives of all the people she met. She was loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed.
Ardis passed away peacefully on Friday, October 7, 2016 at her home at the age of 78.
