Art enjoyed hunting and often took his horse “Amber” to a friend’s cabin in the Prior Mountains near Billings, Montana, where he shot trophy deer, which he proudly displayed in his living room.
Art and Betty liked to snowmobile and would sometimes cross over the river into Wisconsin. They loved to travel; taking trips to northern Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Michigan UP. As a young family they vacationed every year. In 1980, they purchased land in southwestern Colorado and it became the vacation destination. Art would take visitors on the trails in the San Juan Mountains and explore old gold mines and ghost towns.
