Marie A. Stevens

Marie Stevens born April 15, 1912 to James & Viola (Morrow) Caroon in Rock Creek, MN. Marie was born and spent most of her life in Rock Creek township (Deer Valley). She married Len Stevens in 1936. They eventually settled on an 80 acre farm along East Highway 70 where she loved tending her vegetable and flower gardens by day and knitting, sewing and crocheting by night. Marie also served on the District 82 school board. Marie is survived by her: daughter Myrna (Ray) Lundquist of Rochester, MN, son Ray (Donna) Stevens of Stillwater, MN four grandchildren: Valerie (Rick) Janka, Robyn (Michael) Sloan, Erik (Carol) Lundquist, Rae Ellen Lundquist (Keith Nelson), ten great grandchildren: Erin, Andrew, Megan, Jamie, Cameron, Olena, Carl, Logan, Sierra, Luke and one great great grandson Jack Henry. Marie Passed away July 21, 2009 at the United Hospital in St. Paul at the age of 97 years. Rev. Vicki Vander Vegt will officiate at funeral services: 1:00 P.M. Saturday July 25, 2009 at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Pine City. Visitation and reviewal is scheduled for Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Swanson Chapel in Pine City and one hour prior to the funeral at church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Birchwood Cemetery next to her husband Len Stevens. Memorials are preferred to the Pine City Food Shelf.
