Maynard Twingstrom of North Branch passed away at Lakeside Medical Center in Pine City on Sunday, November 13, 2016 after a bout of pneumonia at the age of 81. Maynard Roger Twingstrom was born on November 27, 1934 to Oliver and Selma (Erickson) Twingstrom in Spencer Brook Township in Isanti County, Minnesota. He was the oldest of four boys and right from the start, he was a farm boy at heart. Maynard was not exactly a fan of the Pine Lake Country School, so he only attended through sixth grade. He would much rather be at home on the farm with his dad and grandfather doing chores and tending crops with the horses. Some of Maynard’s work outside of the farm included many years of hard work loading feed sacks at Peterson’s Feed Mill in North Branch where he tried his best to remember the correct mixes the farmers desired for their feed grinding. He also worked for several farmers, the Cambridge Woolen Mills and was a janitor at Bridge Park Apartments in Cambridge. Maynard always came home to help with chores as he continued to live with his parents. He enjoyed that; and his parents enjoyed having him for his company and his help. Years ago, on weekends you would see Maynard with his bachelor buddies in their own booth at Lakeside on Fish Lake by Stark. Like his parents, Maynard was a good dancer; yet everyone got up for morning milking the next day as a team. Maynard’s interests were cars, antiques, thrashing shows; almost anything old and of course cows! He loved auctions and had quite a collection by the time he had his own auctions. Maynard was known by many other collectors and that was a subject that would light up his world. A shy fellow, his quiet and sometimes stubborn way, will surely be missed by all who knew him. We all wish to truly thank Brask Haven for their great and genuine care of Maynard. Thank you Tracey Rabiola; for going out of your way to help Maynard and also Wyoming Hospital, Lakeside Nursing facility in Pine City and the excellent Fairview Hospice folks, who treated Maynard with such dignity and care these last few weeks. Maynard lived with Parkinson’s Disease for a very long time and along with all his hard work, his body could take no more. We delight in the fact that his is reunited with his parents he loved so much. Maynard is survived by his brothers Myron (Jan) Twingstrom of Rush City, Marlin (Nancy Stone) Twingstrom of Isanti and Harley (Candy) Twingstrom of Harris; nephews: Scott (Renita) Twingstrom of Rush City, Tom (Terri) Twingstrom of Colorado, Mylo (Patty) Twingstrom of Isanti, Monty (Naomi) Twingstrom of Princeton and Greg Twingstrom of Harris; niece Andrea (Brian Ramelfanger) Twingstrom of Rush City; six great-nephews and nine great-nieces; great-great nephews, great-great nieces; many aunts, uncles, relatives and friends including his extended loving family of the last four years at Brask Haven Assisted Living of Spring Lake, right around the corner from the old farm. He is preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Selma Twingstrom; nephew Jame Jon Twingstrom and other aunts and uncles.
