Ellsworth "Ole" Beavers

August 14, 1916 — August 21, 2009

Ellsworth Orien Beavers was born August 14, 1916 in Rock Creek, Minnesota.  He went home to be with Pa and Ma, Charles and Nellie (Butcher) Beavers and sister Bernice Rike on August 21, 2009 at the age of 93 years.  He is survived by Evelyn “Toots” (Kalb) Beavers of Pine City, Minnesota, his loving wife of 71 years; daughter and son-in-law: Beverly & Wallace “Gene”  Peterson of Longville, MN;  grandchildren: Jeff Sliker of Redwood Falls, MN, Andrea Sliker (Michael Kirchner) of Becker, MN, Sandra (William) Forsman of Lindstrom, MN, and Carol (Peter) Sonntag of Eagle, CO, 13 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Adelia Hauff of Minneapolis, MN, Lucile Hinson and Eda Bachman both of Pine City, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.              Ole was born on the home farm in Rock Creek, attended Meadow Bank country school, and was a dairy farmer raising registered Jerseys.             On June 1, 1938 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Kalb at the Methodist Church in Rock Creek. Ole was a strong honest man of  few words.  He worked at Plastech Corporation in Rush City, Minnesota for a period of 10 years.   Following a farm auction in 1974, Ole and Evelyn moved to Pine City.             After selling the farm they took many bus tours, cruises, and traveled in their RV with family and friends. They moved to Halter Pines Apartments in 2008, and Ole lived the last ten months at the Pines Senior Care assisted living where he passed away.  Special thanks to the Pines staff for their loving care.  Funeral services were Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Pine City with Pastor Lynn Sahr officiating.  Music was provided by Adrienne Roubinek and Hope Forsman.  Casket bearers were Charles Rike, Dick Kalb, Don Bartheidel, Norm Commerford, Dennis Wilcox, and Rudy Kalb.  Interment was at the Birchwood Cemetery in Pine City.
