Donald Carl Schwarz

Donald Schwarz of Pine City passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his home at the age of 89. Donald "Donnie" Carl Schwarz was born March 4, 1928 to William and Lillian (Schumacher) Schwarz in Pine City, Minnesota.Donnie lived in the same farm home his entire life that he had moved into on his 16th birthday.  He married the love of his life, Charlene on December 10th, 1951.  He was very proud of his family of five children; four sons and one daughter; followed by nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was a lifelong farmer and also enjoyed hauling cattle.  Donnie enjoyed his family time and liked hunting, fishing, playing cards, trail rides and camping.  One of his proudest moments was the time he shot a ten-point buck on his farm land in 2005, which was recognized in the Minnesota Classic Record Book. With heavy hearts we will say goodbye to a wonderful quiet man who was very special to all of us. Don is survived by his wife Charlene; children Larry (Donna) Schwarz, Coleen (Glen) Peterson, Andy (Mary) Schwarz all of Pine City, Bill Schwarz of Askov, Bob (Sue) Schwarz of Duluth; 9 grandchildren: Clint, Vickie (Troy), Nichole (Jim), Shaune (Mary), Travis (Kristen), Cole, Drew (Amanda), Jordan and Jesse; 16 great-grandchildren. Don is preceded in death by his parents William and Lillian Schwarz; and brother Noral (Trank) Schwarz. Reverend Glen Kleppe will officiate at funeral services for Don: 11:00 AM; Thursday, (3/30) at the Zion Lutheran Church in Pine City.  A time of visitation and reviewal is planned for Wednesday evening from 5-8 PM at the Swanson Chapel in Pine City and 1 hr. prior to the funeral at church.  Casket bearers include: Shaune Macho, Jim Laven, Travis Schwarz, Cole Schwarz, Drew Schwarz, Clint Schwarz, Jesse Schwarz, Jordan Schwarz and Troy Colsrud.  The interment will be in the Birchwood Cemetery of Pine City.
