Lori Ann Schlagel of North Branch, MN went to be with her Lord on September 3, 2009 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services for Lori were held on Wednesday September 9, 2009 at 4:00 PM in the North Branch High School Auditorium in North Branch, MN with Pastor Laurie O’Shea officiating. Music was provided by Andy Spofford, Valarie Peterson and Alissa Krinke. Memorials preferred in leau of flowers. Casket bearers included Wayne Peshia, Mick Louzek, Rick Lofboom, Mark Savage, Neil Fletcher, Dean Miller, Mark Case and Bill Baumann with the interment in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Harris, MN.
Lori was born to Bill and Elaine Peterson on July 8, 1958 in Minneapolis, MN. Lori was the oldest of 4 children and a graduate of Richfield High School in 1976. She continued her education by attending Normandale Community College where she received her degree as a Legal Secretary.
On June 14, 1980 Lori was married to Larry Schlagel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rush City, MN. She began working in North Branch as a secretary for the law firm of Jennings, DeWan, Miller and Anderson. After two years Lori moved to the Chisago County Government Center where she became the Assistant Court Administrator for 25 years.
Lori was an honored Queen of Job’s Daughters Bethel #1, Minneapolis, MN. She was at one time a member of the North Branch Cloggers and an active member of a Homemakers group in North Branch.
Lori enjoyed scrapbooking, attending craft fairs, and going to Dinner Theater Production. Most of all, she loved spending time with friends and family.
Preceding Lori in death is her mother Elaine Peterson, Mother in-law Lorraine Schlagel and Father in-law Cecil Schlagel.
Lori is survived by her husband Larry Schlagel, son Ryan (Lindsay) Schlagel and grandchildren Jackson and Julia of Grasston, MN, daughter Jamie Schlagel of Allendale, Michigan, Father Bill Peterson (Colleen) of Harris, sister Joni (Dan) Shearer of Townsend, Montana, brothers Steve of Highland Ranch, Colorado, Mike (Stacey) Peterson of Mora, brothers in-law Bob (Shari) Schlagel of Rush City, Kevin (Pam) Schlagel of St. Cloud. Lori also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and beloved friends and relatives.
