Henry Oliver Olson, “Hank”, son of John and Tilda (Falla) Olson, was born September 29, 1937 in Binford, North Dakota. He attended elementary school in Valley City, ND, through 2nd grade. In 3rd grade, he moved with his mother and brother Howard to Hendrum, MN, where his mother met and later married Neil Qualley in 1946. In 1948, he welcomed his brother Julian into the family. In 1949, the family moved to a farm north of Moorhead, MN.
He attended Moorhead State Teachers College Campus School and graduated in 1956. He then attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND for 2 years. After
graduation he worked at the First National Bank of Fargo, ND.
In 1963 he went to work for the City of Minneapolis Public Works Business
Office. In 1972 he began working for the Airport Express Limousine Service of Minneapolis-St. Paul, and continued to work there for 27 years until his retirement in 1999.
He was married to Barbara Berke in 1979, and they lived in Bloomington, MN with her daughter Kelly. They later divorced and Henry moved to Eagan, MN.
In 1999 he moved to the Apple Valley Villa Senior Center. When his health began to fail he moved to the University Good Samaritan Specialty Center where he passed away on the evening of October 26, 2009 at the age of 72.
Henry loved visiting with people, classic cars, and caring for his pets Ash, Blue, and Gretchen.
Henry is survived by his two brothers, Howard (Elizabeth) Olson, and Julian (Marie) Qualley, 1 step-daughter, 6 nephews and 1 niece.
He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father Tilda and Neil Qualley, his father John Olson and 1 niece Kristin Olson.Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31st @ First Lutheran Church of Audubon, MN. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Strandvik Lutheran Cemetery of rural Lake Park, MN.There will also be a Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 3rd @ 10:30 a.m. at the University Good Samaritan Specialty Center, 22 27th Ave. SE, Mpls.
