Mr. Charles “Chuck” Kazda of Hinckley died Friday (November 13, 2009) at his home north of Cloverdale at the age of 58.
He was born January 6, 1951 in St. Paul to Carolyn & Leonard Kazda. In 1952, he moved, with his family, to Pine City. He attended St. Mary’s School, was confirmed at Immaculate Conception Church in Pine City and also served as an altar boy.
Growing up in Pine City, Chuck especially enjoyed fishing the catfish holes by the Snake River Dam. Chuck graduated from Pine City High School in 1969 and attended Century College following his graduation.
He worked factory jobs in the Twin Cities until joining the State of Minnesota Department of Natural Resources where he worked for over 25 years. Chuck especially enjoyed the time he spent outdoors working at Banning State Park, Split Rock State Park and St. Croix State Park.
Chuck Kazda is survived by his mother Carolyn Kazda of Pine City, sisters Jacquelyn Bush of Maplewood, Janet Singer of Chandler, Az., Kathryn Churchill of Vadnais Heights, brother Gary Kazda of Circle Pines, several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his father Leonard Kazda, grandparents Charles & Lena Kazda, Joe & Bessie Shatava, numerous aunts and uncles and his pets Coco and Chomper.
Fr. David Forsman will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday; 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City. A time of visitation is scheduled for Tuesday; one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
Chuck Kazda will be interred in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Pine City.
