Doug passed away peacefully at his home on November 12, 2009. He was born September 12, 1957 to James & Goldean (Shermer) Wiener at Kanabec Hospital in Mora, MN. He grew up in the Rush City area. Doug was Valedictorian of his graduating class of 1976. He was united in marriage to Lori Nestvold-Strachota on August 30, 1997 in Rush City, MN & they raised two boys, Dallas and Derrick. He was employed at a young age with his own lawn mowing business, Plastech Research of Rush City, and then the past 13 years for Andersen Windows in Bayport, MN. His hobbies included working on computers, entertaining guests at his home, gardening, motorcycling and spending time with his grandchildren. Doug also collected lighthouses, eagles and steins. Doug will be remembered as a pillar for many people in their time of trial. He was a good Christian to all who all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all. Doug is survived by his best companion, Dakota, his chocolate lab; children, Dallas Nestvold, granddaughter, Sutheree Nestvold, and Derrick (Milissa) Nestvold, grandchildren Chase Anderson, Caitlynn Nestvold & Wesley Nestvold; former wife, Lori Strachota; sisters & brothers, Barbara Jacobson, Dwain (Melanie) Wiener, Gerald (Joyce) Wiener, Deborah Olson and Laura (Charles) Freese; aunts, LaVon Sowada and Mary Shermer; 11 nephews, 5 nieces, their spouses and children; many other relatives and friends including his “family” at Andersen. Doug is preceded in death by his parents, James and Goldean Wiener; brother, Roy; sister, Edith; nephew, Jamie Wiener and many aunts and uncles. Services for Douglas L. “Doug” Wiener age 52, of Stillwater will be Friday, 11:00 A.M. at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 115 North 4th Street, Stillwater. Local interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hinckley, MN. at 3:00 p.m. Friday.
