Barbara Ann Jacobson

November 21, 1941 — December 25, 2009

Barbara Ann Jacobson (Wiener) was born on November 21, 1941 in Pine City, Minnesota. She grew up in the Pine City area where she graduated from high school in 1959. Barbara was a wife and mother and raised two daughters and three sons. Barb retired recently after working at the Rock Creek Motor Stop, Red Shed Restaurant and the Legion in Pine City. She had a passion for collecting bells, Pillsbury Doughboy items, decorative tins and doing crossword puzzles. As she became an empty-nester, she enjoyed venturing out each day enjoying a meal and socializing with friends. Just following her 68th birthday, she made her third and final trip to Tennessee to spend her last days, leaving behind the cozy and predictable life she had made for herself. In spite of her unwillingness to part this life, God guided her home with courage and grace. She died peacefully in Jefferson City, Tennessee on December 25, 2009. Barb is survived by her children; Wendy (Tim) Teich of Rush City, Tom Johnson of Tennessee, Lanny Johnson of Tennessee, Julie (Wesley) Brunk of Mora; Duane (Jessica) Jacobson of Tennessee; 2 brothers and 2 sisters, 15 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, several nieces, nephews and many friends. A memorial service for Barb Jacobson will be held Saturday, January 9th, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City with Reverend Ron Boettner officiating. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service. A spring inurnment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hinckley.
