William John Christen
William John Christen of Brook Park died tragically in an automobile accident on April 17th, 2010 at the age of 19.
William was born August 12th, 1990 in Fridley, Minnesota. At the age of 8 he moved to Brook Park and attended the Pine City Schools, where he graduated in 2009. He was in his first year of school at Mesabi Range and Technical School in Eveleth/Virginia Minnesota studying Graphic Design.
William had a very artistic and vivid imagination. He enjoyed many things in life. To name just a few would be, playing the drums, guitar, keyboard, video games, cards, magic tricks, golf, frolf, fishing, hunting, kayaking, riding his motorcycle, and most of all making people laugh. Known at college as the “King of one- liners”, he was quite the entertainer. He gave the gift of “himself” to everyone around him – God blessed him with a joyful, loving and caring spirit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Robert and Rosemarie Christen, Robert and Mabel Barry and Janice Barry.
He will be sadly missed by his Father, Lee Christen (Kristine) of Iron River, Wi, Mother, Dawn Shilts (Dan) of Brook Park, Mn, Sister, Emma Christen, Step sisters, Kelsey Hart and Jennifer Madden (Rick), Step brothers, Michael Hart and Bradley Shilts. Uncles, Steve Christen (Pam), Louis Christen(Dawn), Allan Barry, Timm Barry (Becky), Aunt, Roseanne Buttler (Chris), Cousins, Candice Christen, Robert Christen, Jennifer Rarick, Michelle Barry-Brown (Jeremiah)and Timm Barry, Jr.
Pastor Jack Allen officiated at his funeral service; 11:00 a.m. Saturday 4/24/10) at the Evangelical Free Church-Lighthouse in Pine City.
Will Christen was interred in the Hillside Cemetery in Mpls. Casket bearers included his father Lee Christen, friends Michael Hart, Joey Carter, Dusty Fore, Jeremy George, Chad Vargas and Morgan Johnson.
