Pastor Rodney Paul Kimbler

September 10, 1953 — April 25, 2010

Our loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, pastor and friend passed away peacefully on April 25, 2010 from a five year battle with cancer. He was at home with his family by his side. Born in Crosby, MN on September 10, 1953, Rod graduated from Crosby High School in 1971 and married his high school sweetheart, Jackie in 1974. He graduated from North Central Bible College (Minneapolis, MN) in 1976. Rod was an Assemblies of God pastor for 34 years. Rod started out his ministry spending two years in Madison Wisconsin as a youth pastor. He spent the next 32 years as the senior pastor for 5 churches (Siren, WI; Wells, MN; Chisholm, MN; Mound, MN; and Pine City, MN). Rod had a love of sports and officiated many High School Basketball, Baseball, and Football games throughout the state of Minnesota. He spent a year teaching at the Teen Challenge School of Ministry and made lifelong friends wherever he went. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jackie; children, Rodney Paul (Amy) Kimbler II of Otsego, Adam (Lisa) Kimbler Bloomington, and Becky (Chuck) Norman of Apple Valley; grandchildren (Logan, Raegan, Chaz, and Oliver); siblings, Marlene (Jerry) Walters of Baxter, Richard (Janet) Kimbler Clear Lake, Marge (Richard) Lund of Oregon, Bill (Chris) Kimbler Ogilvie, Rose (Larry) Berg Brainerd, and Brian (Carolyn) Kimbler Ironton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Eleanor Kimbler. Rod will be remembered for his unwavering faith, compassionate soul, and his devotion to his wife and family. He will be deeply missed by all who have loved him, known him, and been touched by his generosity and love. Visitation Thursday (4/29) from 5-8 pm at Swanson Funeral Chapel; 665 SW Third Ave. Pine City, MN. Funeral service Friday (4/30) 11 am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church; 825 SW Golf Ave. Pine City, MN.
