Jean Buselmeier of Maplewood, formerly of Pine City and Forest Lake; died Sunday at the Maplewood Care Center in Maplewood, MN. at the age of 82 years.
Jean was born on June 24, 1927 in Pine City, MN. She was an accomplished flautist and graduated valedictorian of her Pine City High School class. She majored in English at the College of St. Catherine’s in St. Paul. While attending college, she entered the Novitiate on campus and became a Sister with the Order of St. Joseph of Carondolet. She remained with the order for many years. She attained a Master’s Degree in English from Notre Dame. Jean taught English classes in the Forest Lake area for many years.
During the 1980s, she wrote a weekly, light hearted, humorous column for the Forest Lake Times. She loved word games, trivial pursuit, music and dancing. She was an avid fan of the Twins and Vikings.
Jean is survived by nephews, Dr. Theodore J. Buselmeier and his wife Nancy of Buffalo, MN, Michael Buselmeier and his wife, Ann of Bloomington, MN; nieces, Joan Richardson of Plymouth, MN, Julie DeStefano of Marblehead, Mass. and Margery Duffey and her husband, Tom of Buffalo, MN.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore J. and Margery (Lahodney) Buselmeier, brother Dr.Theodore W.Buselmeier, DDS, and her special friend, Bill.
Fr. David Forsman will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for Ms. Jean Buselmeier;
10:30 a.m. on Saturday (May 1, 2010); at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City.
A time of visitation is scheduled for 1/2 hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Saturday.
Jean Buselmeier will be interred in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery of Pine City.
