Melissa Maria Brown (Vork) was born in Fridley MN in 1969 to Marvin and Beverly (Starry) Vork.
In 1977, the Vork family moved to Sandstone MN where Missy attended school until graduating from East Central High School in 1987. In high school Missy was involved in activities such as plays, band, volleyball, and having fun. After high school she attended McConnell Travel School in Minneapolis MN.
Missy was a nanny out in New Jersey for while. Upon moving back to Minnesota she lived in the Twin Cities area where she was employed by Northwest Airlink, Signature Airlines. Missy was also employed at Northwest Airlines from 1994 to 2006.
Missy and her family lived in Rush City from 2000 to 2008. In 2008 they moved to North Branch, which was her current place of residence at the time of her death.
In 1992 Missy was married to Patrick Rewey; they had had one son Andrew Rewey In 2000 she was married to Troy Brown and the couple had two sons: Nicholas and Dylan Brown. Her hobbies included traveling, shopping and spending time with her 3 sons.
Missy was diagnosed with breast cancer in August of 2006 and died May 18, 2010 at the Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center in Wyoming, MN. at the age of 40 years.
Missy Brown is survived by her husband Troy, sons Andrew Rewey, Nick Brown and Dylan Brown, her sister Teresa (Doug) Anderson of Maplewood, her brother Keith (Michelle) Vork of Sandstone, several nieces and nephews and her grandmother Iris Vork of Sandstone.
Missy was preceded in death by her parents, Marv and Bev Vork, grandparents Alfred & Alphild Starry and Wilbert Vork.
Rev. Laurie O’Shea officiated at funeral services Sunday 4:00 p.m. @ the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rush City with a time of visitation and reviewal one hour prior to the service at church and Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the Olson Chapel in Rush City.
