Wayne Allen Brogren was born July 23rd, 1941 to Charles and Norma Brogren at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. He attended Hiawatha Grade School, Sanford Junior High, Roosevelt High School, and 2 years of additional schooling at the University of Minnesota & Dunwoody Institute.
He worked hard to earn all his patches to become an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed many hunting trips with his Dad, uncles, cousins, and friends as he was growing up and continued into his adult life. He came to love the woods and being close to nature. As a young man, Wayne was never without a job working at Zinsmaster’s Bakery, Riverview Theatre, Reynolds Metals Plant, and the Arsenal.
He married Carol Hobbie in 1962 and to this union Brenda was born. In 1968, he married Edy Ward who had 4 children. They were married 32 years. Wayne and Edy owned White Bear Machine in White Bear Lake.
Wayne enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, collecting antiques, and watching western movies. Most of all he just enjoyed being in the woods and close to nature. Wayne belonged to the Wednesday morning Bible study group, the Mustardseeds. He was always eager to help in any way he could with all their projects, which included church maintenance, cleaning, making Faith boxes for baptisms, and especially helping with the lutefisk & meatball dinner.
In 2003, Wayne and Jeneice Carter formed C&B Sales, which is continuing to grow and doing well. Wayne was very active until cancer entered his body two years ago. Even during his battle he continued to be as active as possible cutting and clearing trees on his farm near Henriette.
Wayne and Jeneice Carter were planning to be married at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on June 26th, 2010, but our Blessed Heavenly Father had other plans. Wayne passed away on Wednesday, June 2nd at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester at the age of 68.
