Heather Lynn Hawley, age 29, died at her home in Pine City on July 27, 2010. Heather was born on August 24, 1980 in Cambridge, Minnesota. Heather attended the Pine City Schools and graduated in 1998. Following graduation from the Pine City High School, Heather worked in the Pine City area. Later, Heather attended Pine Technical College, achieved the dean’s list and received a degree in office management. Heather worked for 5 years as an account clerk for AT&T in the Twin Cities Heather enjoyed family and friends. She was friendly, well liked by others and touched the lives of many. Heather was passionate in following the Minnesota Twins and especially admired Joe Mauer. Other interests both past and present included: computer time connecting with family and friends, camping, fishing and hunting. Heather was a member of the Pine City VFW Auxiliary and past member of Brownies, Girl Scouts and SADD (Students Against Drunk Drivers). Heather had a special relationship with her grandparents and enjoyed spending time with them. She gave the gift of putting “others first” to everyone around her. Heather will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Marvin Purdy and paternal grandfather, Phillip Hawley. She will be sadly missed by her mother, Peggy Redmond of Pine City, MN; father, Donald Hawley and wife Joanne of Rush City, MN; maternal grandmother, Darlyne Purdy of Pine City and paternal grandmother, Margaret Hawley of Nebraska. She is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. A funeral service will be held at Swanson Funeral Chapel on Saturday, July 31, with the Pastor Vicki Vander Vegt officiating. Interment will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery.Visitation will be on Friday, July 30th from 5-8 p.m. at Swanson Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
