Danny Elwyn Wright, 54 of rural Pine City, passed away August 7, 2010 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, following a “hit – and – run” which caused severe and inoperable brain trauma.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene Bernajean Shelton Wright and his father Russell Elwyn Wright, both of St. Paul.
He is survived by his sisters Connie J. Wright and Susan K. Baraghoush, his brothers Ted P. Wright and Fredrick J. Wright, his sons Jonathan A. and Christopher J. Wright, one granddaughter, Sage Christine Wright, and Cousin Tracy L. Clymer, all of rural Pine City.
Danny was an avid outdoorsman, fishing and hiking year – round. He loved all animals, but was especially fond and sympathetic to homeless or abused companion animals. For the past 10 years he had volunteered year – round at Pine County Guardian Angel Shelter, a no-kill rescue in rural Pine County. He will be missed by all the dogs and all the volunteers.
Danny donated his organs to help others.
A private memorial service will be held at the family homestead led by Rev. Timothy Stratton of Grace Baptist Church of Pine City.
The family asks that flowers not be sent as his cremated remains will be placed in his favorite flower bed on the homestead. Cards are appreciated and prayers for his organ recipients are requested.
