Harry Bell was born in Pine City, MN to Harry and Lila (Smith) Bell on September 17th, 1940. He passed away on August 28th, 2010 surrounded by family at his daughter’s home.
He is preceded in death by parents Harry and Lila Bell, sister Barbara Joan Valvoda and brother Kenneth Bell.
Survived by daughter Teena Ramberg, her husband Todd and grandchildren Mason, Payton and Dalton. Harry is also survived by many step children and step grandchildren; 9 brothers, 5 sisters, many nieces, nephews and a lot of longtime friends.
Harry attended school in Beroun, MN. After his school years, he had various jobs in forestry, farming, automotive repair and construction. In 1963 he was drafted into the US Army and served his country from 1963 to 1965. From 1966 to 1973 he worked for Federal Cartridge in Shoreview, MN. In 1969 he married Phyllis Sybrant and they had one daughter. In 1973 he joined the Laborers Union and worked as a concrete construction worker until he retired from Gresser Concrete in 1993. As a so-called retiree, he did various part time jobs including working at the VFW in Rush City. Harry was also a member of the VFW #292 in Rush City and a member of the American Legion Post 85 in North Branch. Harry liked to attend flea markets, can vegetables, go to garage sales and visit thrift stores. Harry enjoyed fishing and spending time with his many good friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Olson Chapel in Rush City with visitation from 5-8 p.m. also Thursday evening. A family interment is planned at the Hustletown Union Cemetery northeast of Pine City, MN.
