Karin was born on March 28, 1942 in Minot, North Dakota to Kenneth E. and Zola Marie (Moorhouse) Bey. When very young she lived in St. Cloud, Minnesota and as a young girl moved in 1950 to St. Paul, Minnesota where she spent the remaining years with her family until she met and married her husband Tony Engh. Very soon after their marriage they moved to Tony’s hometown of Pine City where they lived for most of the remaining years as they raised their 5 children.Karin worked as a waitress for many years, first at the 61 Way café as well as other cafes in Pine City. She later worked as a secretary for NSP Power Co. for many years.
Karin struggled with back surgerys’ and pain and later kidney cancer. She had the same best friend for over 47 years…..Gloria Neeb and her husband Neil. She loved to visit them in St. Cloud, Minnesota. They were extended family to all of Karin’s family.
She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and “word finds”, collecting bells and angels and also crocheting blankets for her grandchildren.
Karin died Thursday morning, November 4th at Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming, Minnesota.
She is survived by her husband Anthony, her 5 children Thomas Engh and his wife Brenda of Pine City, Rochelle Engh of Roseville, Minnesota, Sheryl and her husband Leon Rachey, Kris Engh, and John Engh and his wife Karen, all of Pine City. She was also surived by Adam Breaux who was like a son to her. Brother Kenneth E. (Judy) Bey of Lindstrom and sisters Lenore (Danny) Vento of Forest Lake and Kathy (Jerry) Zellmer of Elk River also survive her. Grandchildren John Robert Jenkinson, Jennifer Rachey, John Jacob Engh, Oliviah Engh, Alainah Engh, Carson Engh, Stephanie Hayes, Brittnae Engh, Dakota Glenn, Joey Breaux, Briana Engh, Michaela Engh, and Tiffany Carmen survive her also. Karin was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Brett Michael Thomas Engh, sisters Diane Nahl, Candace Cobeneis and infant sister Chleown Bey.A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 9th at the Pine City Evangelical Free Church Lighthouse. A gathering of relatives and friends will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church only.
