He is survived by his wife Joanne, his children: Dawn (David) Gibb of Mora, Linda (John) Hanson of Grasston, Tracie Peterson of Phoenix, Az., Michele (Jeff) Rohricht of Oakdale, & Russell D. Peterson of Pine City. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and sisters: Barbara Kronschnable & Marcie Brown, both of St. Paul, and brothers: Richard & James, both of Phoenix, Az.
Originally from the east side of St Paul, "Sonny" spent the last 30 years residing in Grasston where he enjoyed feeding the wildlife, mowing the lawn and wrapping weed whips around oak trees when they didn't run properly. He was a true 'character' and the ultimate pro at 'rigging' things since he always found some kind of combination to make things work; the makers of Duct Tape are taking a moment and bowing their heads. We know that he is now at peace; looking down on all that remember him and the things he did in his lifetime. Our family and all of our friends have many stories to share, for many years to come.
A memorial will be held Friday, November 12th at 6:00 pm at the Open Arms Church of God, 406 Pine Street, Grasston, MN 55030. Dinner will be provided after the service.
