Anthony "Tony" Debevec was born May 29, 1946 in Greenwood, Wisconsin to Anton and Frances (Baskovec) Debevec. Tony graduated from Greenwood High School in 1964. He then moved to Minnesota and served his country in the U. S. Army from 1965 through 1967. After his military service, Tony started his lifelong career with the USPS working at the downtown Minneapolis Post Office. His entire 25 plus year career with the USPS was spent in this location. After retirement from the postal service, Tony enjoyed gardening and sports. As evidence of his strong faith, Tony made rosaries which he donated to various charities and prisons. In over 25 years, he created and gave away over 100,000 rosaries. Tony passed away at his home on the Hog's back Road; Sunday October 15, 2017 at the age of 71. Tony is survived by his sister Carol (Ron) Clift of Circle Pines, his brother Chuck Debevec of Rush City, nephew Tim (Nancy) Clift of Lino Lakes, niece Lisa (Cary) Truman of Red Wing and grand-niece Madison Truman. A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for Thursday (10/19/17) 11:00 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Rush City. Friends and family are encouraged to gather for a time of reviewal and visitation one hour prior to the Mass at church. The interment will take place in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery at Rush City with military honors provided by the Grothe-Jacobson VFW, the Rush City American Legion and the Minnesota National Guard.
