Arlene Lois Carl

Arlene Carl passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 at CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud at the age of 94.

Arlene Lois Black was born November 26, 1925 to Hugh and Sophia (Langerman) Black in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Arlene was married to Harold Carl for 51 years.  Through the years they shared many adventures and worked together as a team.  They were owner and operators of the Moorman Feeds and then the Riverside Sports Shop.

Arlene welcomed all that came to her door.  She was always serving up a cup of hot coffee and a plate of sweets that just came out of the oven.  Arlene wore many hats; she was most proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her circle was full of family and friends.  She got to know your joys and problems.  She always had a joke or would tease you to make you laugh.  From her window she fed the birds, argued with the squirrels and shed a tear at the pure beauty of the wildlife passing through her yard.

Arlene worked hard every day making sure your day would be the best.  She will be forever loved and missed.

Arlene is survived by her daughter Judith Broman and son Roy (Jan) Carl all of Pine City; grandchildren: Kyle Broman, Patrick (Heather) Carl, Rebecca Ohlenburger; great-grandchildren: Davin Dawson, Dakota Dawson, Ellie Dawson, Hunter Carl, Ryan Carl; brother Malcolm “Mike” (Lola) Black of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter-in-law Ann Carl of Florida; many other relatives and friends.

Arlene is preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Sophia Black; husband Harold Carl; son Ricky Carl; daughter Arloyne (Russell) Bergstrom; twin grandsons Eugene and Ben Broman.

Funeral services for Arlene: 3 PM; Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. A time of visitation and reviewal will take place one hour prior to the service at the chapel. The interment will take place at Birchwood Cemetery in Pine City.  A light luncheon will be served at Roy and Jan’s home (625 5^th Avenue NW) immediately following the burial.
