Betty Hendrickson passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Northern Pines Assisted Living in Pine City at the age of 83.
Arlene Betty James was born February 24, 1936 to William and Mabel (Samuelson) James in Hayland Township in Mille Lacs County, Minnesota.
Betty worked in the secretarial field after graduating from Milaca High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On November 12, 1955 she married Alfred A. Hendrickson. For many years while raising their family of a daughter and two sons they lived in Mora area. Betty worked as a part-time store clerk and as a full-time nurse’s aide. She was employed with both the Elim Nursing Home in Milaca and at the Villa Nursing Home in Mora. Later she was employed with Kanabec County as a home health aide. Betty’s had a nurturing way about her and it came through in her many care giving positions she held throughout her working years. She was an extremely kind and gracious person to all her family and friends. In 2011, Betty and Al moved to Pine City to be closer to their daughter.
Betty is survived by her daughter Jean Matson of Pine City and son Robert Hendrickson of Onamia; grandchildren Jeremy (Samantha) Matson, Emily (Tyler) Jones and Wyatt Hendrickson; great grandchildren Aiden Matson, Hunter Jensrud, Jayden Jones and baby boy Jones to be; brother James (Irene) James of Sauk Rapids; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Mabel James; husband Al Hendrickson, son Gary Hendrickson and six siblings.
A graveside service for Betty Hendrickson will be at 2:00PM Friday, July 12, 2019 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca.
