Arnold Patzoldt

Arnie Patzoldt passed away peacefully Friday, February 9, 2024 with his granddaughters holding his hands and his sons and daughter-in-law by his side at the age of 81.

Arnold Joseph Patzoldt was born July 5, 1942 to Arnold and Ella (Marquardt) Patzoldt in Pine City. He lived and worked most of his life on the family farm. For a short time he drove truck picking up milk cans and working at the Pine City Feed Mill. Arnie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers. 

On September 26, 1970, he married Dorthy Ann Venhuizen, together they raised two sons Joe and Josh. He bought the family farm from his parents and he and Dorthy continued to milk Brown Swiss cows. Arnie loved animals and he was especially proud of his Brown Swiss cows, keeping track and breeding of his registered herd and was extremely caring during calving times. In 1981, they sold the milk cows and continued farming with beef cattle. Sadly Dorthy passed away in 2001, Arnie and his sons continued to farm.

Arnie loved teaching his granddaughters how to drive a tractor and having them take him for a ride. He was a hard working, caring, loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and most of all devoted to God. 

Arnie is survived by his sons Joe (Julie) Patzoldt, Josh Patzoldt all of Pine City; granddaughters Ellie Patzoldt, Kate Patzoldt; sister Ellen Patzoldt of Hinckley; sister-in-law Margie Patzoldt of Big Lake; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Ella Patzoldt; wife Dorthy; sister Judy; brothers Robert, David, Dennis, Gene, Harold.

Pastor Rob Spahr will officiate at Arnie's funeral service: 11 AM; Tuesday, February 13, 2024 with a time of visitation and reviewal one hour prior to the service all at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. The interment will take place in the Hustletown Union Cemetery.
