Arthur "Art" Joseph Pangerl

Arthur "Art" Pangerl passed away at his home in Pine City on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the age of 91.

Art was born July 18, 1932, to Joseph and Emma (Youngbauer) Pangerl at their home on the farm in Royalton Township, Minnesota.

Art spent many years farming and working as an engineer on the steam engine at the sawmill. In 1986, he sold the family farm and moved to the Cross Lake home. He worked for Royalton Township for 21 years and drove the school bus in Pine City for 16 years.

Art spent 38 years with the love of his life, Doris Mohr. He enjoyed traveling with Doris, deer hunting and fishing. He continued to go to the deer camps he built in 1949 in Nickerson up until this year. He loved playing cards with friends and telling old stories with a glass of brandy in hand. He had a caring, fun-loving soul that will be deeply missed.

Art is survived by his loving family, Tracy Lehman of Stacy; Terrie (Mark) Schoeberl of Rush City; Chuck Mohr and Kathy Mohr of Pine City; grandchildren, Jesse (Michelle) Mohr, Josh (Brenda) Mohr, Jeremiah (Tiffany) Mohr, Lucas (Alisha) Schoeberl, Matthew (Christina) Schoeberl, Christopher (Megan) Schoeberl, Zack Lehman and Jamie (Jake) Kogler; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Emma Pangerl; his love, Doris Mohr; siblings Bernard (LaDez) Pangerl, Genevieve (Robert) Olson, Frances Nordeen, Merle Nordeen; nephew Mark Nordeen; son-in-law Tim Lehman.

Monsignor Aleksander Suchan will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for Art at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned from 4-7 PM, Monday (11/27) with a prayer service at 6:30 PM all at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City and also one hour prior to the Mass in the St. Anthony Commons area of the church. The interment will take place at 10 AM, Friday, December 1, 2023 in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Pine City.
