Barbara Jean Reiter

Barb Reiter passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Friday, September 1, 2023 at the age of 85.

Barbara Jean Hoppe was born on March 21, 1938 to Howard and Anelda (Butke) Hoppe in St Paul, Minnesota.

Barb loved to laugh and talk about her children, grandchildren, and her beloved cats.

Barb is survived by her children Don (Debbie) Reiter, Cindy Reiter, Jerry (Mary) Reiter, Julie (Rob) Hodgson, Michelle Reiter; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers Jerry (Joann) Hoppe, Rick (Kathy) Hoppe, Jack Hoppe; nieces and nephews.

Barb had a special relationship with her daughter Michelle, who was also her caregiver and housemate for the last few years of her life.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Anelda Hoppe; husband Michael Reiter; son Robert Reiter; brother James Hoppe. 

A Celebration of Barb's Life is planned for 11 AM Saturday, September 9, 2023 with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service all at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City.  A reception will follow the service at Fiesta Cancun in Rush City.  The interment with husband Michael; will take place in the Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights at a later date.
