Carol Swing-Dahlman of North Branch passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center in Wyoming at the age of 82.
Carol Jean Schwarz was born October 21, 1935 to Otto and Mathilda (Shimek) Schwarz in Pine City, MN and was raised on her family’s farm. She graduated from Rush City High School in 1953. Carol retired from the State of Minnesota where she had a long career as a buyer. She enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, traveling, and cards with family and friends.
Carol is survived by her sons Wally (Barbara) Swing of Forest Lake and Jim (Becky) Swing of Harris; grandsons James (Jessica and daughter Lauren) Swing, Jr. of Bayport and John (Jessica) Swing of Las Vegas, Nevada; special nephew Brad (Mona) Lind of Pine City; brother-in-law Harley Johnson of Pine City; as well as more nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Otto and Matilda Schwarz; husbands Wallace M. Swing and Irel K. Dahlman; sisters Eleanor (Dayton) Thorstenson and Maydean Johnson.
Pastor Nathan Baker-Trinity will officiate funeral services for Carol at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, with a gathering of family and friends planned for one hour prior to the service all at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City. The interment will take place at First Lutheran Cemetery in Rush City. A luncheon will follow at First Lutheran Church of Rush City.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service of Rush City, Olson Chapel.
