Carol Tiffany passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at her home in Grasston at the age of 88.
Carol Clifforane Purdy was born April 22, 1936, to Carl and Leoline (Curtis) Purdy in Chengwatana Township, Pine County, Minnesota. She was a prolific reader and a skilled equestrian showing her Arabian horses winning many ribbons and awards. She loved to travel out west especially to the mountains and California. Carol loved gardening and was fond of purple irises, red roses, and her grapes.
She was an unbeatable hostess and knew how to throw the best parties including several wedding receptions. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and nobody could beat her turkey gravy. Carol was quite the huntswoman and a deadeye with her gun. Her love of cats and horses knew no bounds. Carol met the love of her life Robert V. Tiffany while employed at Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator. Later on, if she wasn’t working on her horse ranch, she worked at Polymer in Mora. Any given Friday or Saturday night Bob and Carol could be found cutting a rug at “Cougarville” in Quamba with the Pigeons, Normans, Peters or Sorensens; some of their best friends.
Carol had a profound love of and was quite knowledgeable in her faith and the Bible. She could reference the Bible like a second language, and if you went to her with any problem her reply was, “what the Bible can’t fix, a wooden spoon can.” She inspired and encouraged her children and grandchildren to be strong in faith, work hard, save money, and when you get the chance, she’d hope you’d dance.
Carol is survived by her children Rachael Tiffany of Naylor, Georgia, Michael Tiffany of Duluth, Brenda (Randall) Lange of Milaca, Scott Tiffany of Pine City; siblings Robert (Avelina) Doyle, Micheal (Sharion) Doyle, Mary Lola Doyle, Mary Therese Doyle, Mary Joachim (Robert) Huber, Sister Shawn Marie Doyle, Mary Dannielle (Terry) Barber, Patrick (Kathy) Doyle, Mary Majella Doyle; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Carl M. Purdy; mother Leoline C. Doyle; husband Robert V. Tiffany; daughter Marease Kramer; siblings Martha (Robert) Sorensen, Joseph (Marianne) Doyle; daughter-in-law Jillian Tiffany; great granddaughter Keisa Lange.
