Don Dolan passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at Northern Pines Assisted Living in Pine City at the age of 87.
Donald John Dolan was born September 29, 1932 in St. Paul. He was adored by his parents Joseph and Eleanor (Hager) Dolan. Don graduated in 1950 from St. Paul Cretin High School. He was drafted into the United States Army May 12, 1953 and served his country during the Korean War. In 1953, Don and his high school sweetheart Margaret “Peg” Howlett were married. They moved from Kansas to Illinois until Don was honorably discharged in 1955. Through the years the family grew with the addition of their four children. They lived in White Bear Lake and Roseville; enjoying a cabin on Cross Lake in Pine City. In 1990, Don retired and their cabin in Pine City became home.
Don’s hobbies were fishing and hunting and over the years he enjoyed the friendship of many Labrador dogs. Don and Peg enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in the south. He will be dearly missed.
Don is survived by his loving wife Peg of Pine City; children Michael (Susanne) Dolan of White Bear Township, Patrice (Dale) Weiler of Lindstrom, Timothy (Leilani) Dolan of San Diego, California, Joseph (Nhan) Dolan of Grasston; 11 grandchildren; sisters Nancy (Larry) Coleman of Texas, Mary Joe Dolan of Oakdale; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Eleanor Dolan.
Monsignor Aleksander Suchan will officiate at a Mass of Christian Burial for Donald: 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 18th at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City. A time of visitation and reviewal from 5-8:00 PM for family and friends will be held Tuesday (12/17) at the Swanson Funeral Chapel and also 1 hour prior to the mass in St. Anthony Commons at the church.
