Elizabeth "Betty" May Revier

August 24, 1937 — January 23, 2025

Mora

Betty Revier passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Elim Meadows Health Care Center in Milaca, at the age of 87.

Elizabeth May Brown was born August 24, 1937 to George and Lois Brown at Ancker Hospital in South St. Paul, Minnesota. She graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1955. After high school Betty worked for a production company and met the love of her life, Arlo Revier, as he was working the garbage route and she was walking her dog.

Arlo and Betty got married in the Presbyterian Church in St. Cloud on October 11, 1958 and cherished each other for 66 years. They continued to live in St. Cloud where Betty attended cosmetology school. She worked in a beauty shop for a couple of years and then she started her own beauty shop in Sauk Rapids.

In 1971 Betty and Arlo moved to Pine City on a hobby farm. Betty took a job working for Lakeside Nursing Home as a nurse's aide. She enjoyed being with the people in the nursing home, bringing much joy and love to them. She was also very active in working with the youth group at the Evangelical Free Church in Pine City and soon got the name "Mama Betty." She then furthered her education in her 50's when she attended Anoka Ramsey Community College and received her COTA (Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant) degree. She worked as a COTA at Lakeside Nursing Home until she retired at the age of 66 years old.

When Betty wasn't working she was helping Arlo on the farm, singing, playing Yahtzee (her favorite game), going on trips with the youth group, attending her children's activities, and spending time with her animals. When they sold the farm, Betty and Arlo moved in with Wes and Sandy in Oak Grove. Then Betty and Arlo bought a home of their own in Mora where they live today.

Betty loved God, family, friends, and animals more than anything else. God was the number one love in her life. Her relationship with her Savior was one that she shared with others. It was important to Betty to bring her children up in the church and for them to love the Lord.

She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, with a heart that was so full of love towards anyone she met. When it came to animals, there were many times that Arlo did not know what animal Betty was bringing home next. This has been a lifelong joke in her family. Betty could never turn down giving an animal a warm place to live with a lot of love. She had a special way of persuading Arlo to give in to her. You will need to ask him about that if you are curious.

Betty will be dearly missed but not forgotten.

Betty is survived by her husband Arlo Revier; children Karen (Craig) Vanderwaal, Diane (Michael) Martin, Sandy (Wes) Manglos, John (Susan) Revier; siblings Susie (Bert) Koukol, Bill (Anna) Brown, Art Wiese, Dick (Linda) Brown; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father George Brown; mother Lois Brown-Wiese; step-father Herman Wiese; brother Jim Brown; sisters Carolyn Aman and Grace Parker.
