Elsie Elizabeth Cabak

Elsie Cabak of Beroun passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Sandstone Healthcare in Sandstone at the age of 92.

Elsie Elizabeth Runa was born January 8, 1927 to John P. and Anna (Toman) Runa in Mission Creek Township, Beroun, Minnesota.

Elsie attended country school and was a 1944 graduate of Pine City High School.  She was employed for one year at Twin Cities Arsenal in New Brighton.  On June 30, 1945 Elsie was united in marriage to George H. Cabak.  On June 26, 1985 George passed away.  Elsie was a 31 year employee at the Hinckley Municipal Liquor Store and retired in 1988.  She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Rosary Society for over 60 years and could be relied upon to help out at the annual fall bazaars and funeral lunches.

Elsie is survived by her son George M. Cabak of Beroun; brother John (Alice) Runa of White Bear Lake; sisters Agnes Kryzer of Beroun, Genevieve Kick and Kathryn Schlaeger both of Pine City; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John P. and Anna Runa; sisters Margaret (Joe) Ploub and Marcella (Jim) Pangerl as well as an infant sister.

Monsignor Aleksander Suchan will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for Elsie: 11 AM; Thursday, October 24, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beroun.  Visitation and reveiwal will be at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City beginning at 9 AM followed by prayers and a procession to the church starting at 10:30 AM.  The interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Calvary Cemetery in Beroun.
