Frank Winges of Rush City passed away peacefully at Fairview Wyoming Hospital on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the age of 75 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Frank was born March 23, 1949 to Jim and Alice Winges of Rush City. He graduated from Rush City High School in 1967. He was drafted into the Army in 1968, served in Vietnam from February to December of 1970. After being honorably discharged he came back to Rush City, was employed by Boise Cascade from 1974-1992 and retired from McDonald Distributing in the summer of 2015.
Frank enjoyed fishing, hunting, and hanging out at Bulrush Golf Course in Rush City for an ice-cold Michelob Golden Light and visiting with friends.
Frank is survived by his son Jim Winges; daughter Jenny (Wylie) Musel; grandchildren Dominic and Brady Musel, Ali Winges; sisters Kathy (Greg) McDonald, Lori Werner; nephew and nieces Tim (Brenda) McDonald, Shawna (Josh) Griffin and Rob (Tiffany) Werner.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Alice Winges; niece Tami McDonald; brother-in-law Bob Werner.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 PM; Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. An interment with military honors will take place at First Lutheran Cemetery. A commemorative happy hour will be held at Bulrush Golf Course beginning at 5:30 PM.
Memorials in Frank’s memory will be donated to the Rush City VFW Post #6692.
