Geraldine "Jerrie" Mae Larsen

August 2, 1935 — March 28, 2020

Geraldine “Jerrie’ M. Larsen, age 84, passed away peacefully at the Golden Horizons Assisted Living in Sandstone on Saturday, March 28, 2020 surrounded by her family along with the caring staff of Golden Horizons and Ecumen Hospice.

Jerrie grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with her parents and 4 brothers. In 1957, she married Herbert “Shorty” Larsen from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Together they made their life in Silver Bay, Minnesota and had 4 children. Jerrie was a stay at home mom and worked part time at the Dairy Queen. In 1978, they moved to Hibbing, Minnesota and she worked at Feldmen’s Department Store. When Shorty retired from United Steelworkers of America they retired back to Chippewa Falls. They enjoyed the yearly family reunions at the Irvine Park and feeding the elk Bart and Esmeralda. Jerrie then moved to Grasston, Minnesota to be closer to her daughter and eventually moved into Golden Horizons.

Jerrie loved her flower gardens (real flowers or not), fishing, volleyball, enjoyed watching softball games, shopping, puzzles, rides in the country and trips to Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.

Jerrie is survived by her sons James “Louie” (Kendra) Larsen of Two Harbors, Minnesota, Daniel Larsen of Casper, Wyoming, and Don Larsen of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; daughter Nancy (Tony) Feela of Grasston, Minnesota; grandchildren Danelle (Kyle) Larsen of Casper, Wyoming, Katie (Jeff) Anderson of Silver Bay, Minnesota and Cody Larson of Two Harbors, Minnesota; great-grandchildren Lillian, Kali, Keelan and Hunter; brother David Perham of Nevada; sisters-in-law Judith Larsen and Sandy (Wave) Larsen; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Shorty; brothers William, Douglas and Lawrence Perham; brothers-in-law William and Richard Larsen; sister-in-law Lois (Wayne) Schaal.

An immediate family service for Jerrie will occur now.  Later in the spring, a celebration of life will take place. Please watch for details on our website.
