Gloria Jean Plessel

Gloria Jean Plessel, 73, of Ramsey, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2019, surrounded by her family members in prayer.

Gloria was born on February 27, 1946 in Rush City to the late Louis and Anna (Mohr) Skalicky.

Gloria was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.  She was an Anoka-Ramsey Community College graduate with a BS degree in nursing and attended Bethel College in venture of her masters degree.  She worked as an Anoka County Public Health Nurse and recently retired. She loved quilting, knitting, painting, gardening and caring for her grandchildren. Gloria was living part-time in Green Valley, AZ and in Ramsey. She was diagnosed with renal cancer in July of 2019.

Gloria is survived by her children Mark Plessel of Ramsey, Daniel (Lisa) Plessel of Coon Rapids, Lisa (Charlie) Olson of Minnetrista, and Lori (Kyle Mogenson) Plessel of Andover; 13 grandchildren: Jonathan, Amber, Rachael, Patrick, Matthew, Alexandra, Nicholas, Timothy, Samantha, Benjamin, Isabella, Jenna and Connor; brother Gary (Paulette) Skalicky of Pine City; sisters Judy (Don) Gruett of Tucson, AZ, LouAnn (John) Lawton of Ramsey; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Anna (Mohr) Skalicky; former husband Lawrence Plessel.

Mass of Christian Burial for Gloria will be: 10:30 AM; Friday, November 8, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned from 4-7 PM Thursday (11/7) at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City with a prayer service at 7 PM and also one hour prior to the Mass in the St. Anthony Commons area at the church. The interment will take place in Birchwood Cemetery of Pine City.

Memorials preferred to:  Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Pine City.
