Jane "Janie" Mary Scherer

Jane "Janie" Scherer, age 58, of Rush City made her way to Heaven on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Jane Mary Gorman was born November, 27 1960 at St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is the 4th of 6 children to John D. and Carol J. (Bove) Gorman. Janie moved to Rush City with her family in 1970 and graduated from Rush City High School in 1979. During high school Janie worked at Hillcrest Health Care Center and after high school continued her education to be a surgical technician. She continued her education and became a Registered Nurse traveling to work in many different states such as Hawaii, California, Florida and New York to name a few. When she came back to Minnesota she started working at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina then went on to the University of Minnesota Hospital; later transferring to Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center in Wyoming. Janie worked in same day surgery and recovery and was loved by many co-workers and friends. Janie met her husband Scott in 1992 and married on August 2, 1997. Together they have two children Abigail Joan, and Jacob Luther. Janie is survived by her husband Scott Scherer; children Abby Scherer and Jake Scherer (girlfriend Sami Kubesh); siblings Joan (Dean) Shinler, John (Doreen) Gorman, Jill (Ron) Whittaker, Julie (Brian) Stottler and Jeanette M. McCall all of Rush City; father-in-law and mother-in-law David and Kaye Scherer; brothers-in-law Al (Teresa) Scherer, Jeff (Cindy) Scherer all of North Branch; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; godmother Rosemary Mogren; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents John & Carol Gorman; godfather Bill Murray. Father Shane Wassinger will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for Janie: 10:30 AM; Friday (5/24/19) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rush City.  A time of visitation is planned from 5-8 PM Thursday evening at the Olson Chapel and also one hour prior to the Mass at the church.   Arrangements are entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service of Rush City ~ Olson Chapel.  www.FuneralAndCremationService.com
