Jenny Christensen passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at her home on Cross Lake at the age of 59.
Jennifer Lynn Christensen was born November 6, 1965, to Gerald & Juanita Christensen in Rush City, Minnesota. The oldest of three children, she grew up on a hobby farm in Pine City and attended Pine City Schools. At the age of 16 she started her first job at Nicoll’s Café and Nelson’s Market as well. In 1984, she graduated from Pine City High School and married her high school sweetheart Terry Fedder, together they had a son TJ and daughter Jade. They divorced in 1996.
Jenny was employed with Pine County for 31 years. She worked as a dispatcher in the Sheriff’s Office and as a property assessor in the Assessor’s office. Taking early retirement upon her diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer.
Her second marriage brought three wonderful stepchildren Jessica, Jake, and Brian. Family was so important to Jenny. She enjoyed being the “hostess” for many dinners, gatherings and holiday feasts which usually included playing cards and board games. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she spent as much time as possible with them, loving them and spoiling them! Her favorite colors were red and pink which she wore so often that her grandson Reed called her “Grandma Pink”. Her license plates proudly displayed the name “Grandma Pink”. Zoe later called her “RaRa” when she was too young to pronounce Grandma. The name stuck, so she was known as “RaRa” by Jade’s three children.
Friends were very important to Jenny, she enjoyed meeting friends for lunch, playing cards, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. She was always on the move and enjoyed four wheeling, snowmobiling, riding her motorcycle, canoeing, fishing, and gardening.
Jenny was very involved with her church starting as a teen teaching Sunday School, which continued into Jade’s teen years when they taught together. She spent many years on the altar guild and recently a supporter of Children of Joy Preschool where grandchildren Reed, Zoe and Zeke attended.
One of her passions was traveling. In high school she he was able to go to Europe with her German class. Later she loved vacations and cruises to tropical places with family and friends.
In 2020, she met Steve Peterson, Steve brought so much happiness and love to her life. Together they enjoyed many trips together to Punta Cana, Florida, Colorado, Hawaii, Yellowstone and Germany. They also enjoyed tending to grandchildren together, playing golf, playing cribbage and other card games.
Jenny was so pleased that she was finally able to achieve her dream of living on the lake. In 2021, she built a beautiful, peaceful home on Cross Lake in Pine City. The lake home was a place where she welcomed many friends and family for pontoon rides, fishing, swimming and watching sunsets. Jenny was very loved and will live forever in our hearts.
