Joel Frechette of Rush City passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at his home at the age of 53.Joel Steven Frechette was born October 17, 1963 to Lloyd and Phyllis (Landa) Frechette Sr. in St. Paul, Minnesota.Joel grew up in Roseville and that’s where the trouble-making all started. Even into his adult years, he was always a kid at heart. His personality was contagious and he had a heart of gold. He was always smiling, laughing and cracking jokes. Any time you needed him, he was there. He took a lot of pride in his work as a crane operator for the 49ers union. He helped build the 35W Bridge after the collapse, built the new US Bank Stadium and also brought a cell tower to New York after 9/11. His favorite things were camping in his RV, fishing and bowling. He was amazing at woodworking. He built decks and anything you could think of and it was all so beautiful and well built. He absolutely loved his motorcycle and his 3 grandchildren were his pride and joy. Joel is survived by his daughters Tia (Jay) Peltier of Rush City and Ashley (Jake) Neumann of Finlayson; grandchildren: Trina, Hunter and Aiden; mother Phyllis Frechette of Roseville; siblings Debbie (Sid) Williams of Apple Valley, Kari (Glenn) Germain of North Branch; step-brother Jimmy (Carolyn) Frechette, Jr. of White Bear Lake; step-sister Linda (Keith) Hacker of Montley; brother-in-law Jim Schurmeier of Coon Rapids.He is preceded in death by his father Lloyd Frechette; sister Lisa Frechette-Schurmeier and nephew Jesse Lenertz.Funeral service for Joel: 7:00 PM; Tuesday (8/22/17) at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City.
