John Joseph Allen, Jr.

John Allen Jr. passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at his home in Pine City at the age of 82, with his wife, Barb, and kitty, Rusty, by his side.

John Joseph Allen Jr. was born May 2, 1942 to John Sr. and Anita (Ma Clean) in Waltham, Massachusetts, the oldest of three boys. He joined the United States Army in May 1959, stayed in for 26 years, and retired at the rank of Sergeant Major.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Allen of Pine City; children Pat (Kemerie) Foss of Excelsior, Jay Allen of Washington, Michelle Allen of Des Moines, Washington, Chris Foss of St. Paul, Dan Allen of Mukilteo, Washington, Kerry Foss of Blaine, Lisa (James) Berggren of Hugo; 17 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; many other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents John Sr. & Anita Allen, sons Shawn Allen, Michael Nelson.

Graveside services will be held for John: 1 PM; Wednesday, July 24, 2024, Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area 3, with a Celebration of Life luncheon to follow at the American Legion, 1129 Arcade St., St. Paul, MN 55106.
